WI.Plat Selected for WIN-WIN HONORS through AI-Based Leak Management Demonstration with Korea Midland Power

WI.Plat’s AI-based leak management system demonstration, carried out in cooperation with Korea Midland Power, has been selected for the 2026 WIN-WIN HONORS project by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

The project focused on addressing micro-leak issues in power plant piping systems, using the Sejong Power Division as a demonstration site. In power plants, constant operational noise and complex piping structures make it difficult to identify leak sounds through conventional methods. WI.Plat applied its AI-based leak sound analysis technology to this challenging environment, using actual field data such as piping information and operational noise data.

Through this demonstration, WI.Plat verified how AI can help distinguish leak sounds from background noise in industrial facilities. The project also showed that WI.Plat’s technology, originally developed and applied in the water distribution sector, can be expanded to power plants, industrial facilities, and other infrastructure where early leak detection is directly linked to operational efficiency and asset safety.

This collaboration also builds on the achievements recognized at the 2025 Public-Private Open Innovation Performance Sharing Event, where the AI-based leak management project received the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award. The 2026 WIN-WIN HONORS selection further highlights the project as a meaningful cooperation model between a public enterprise and a technology startup.

Korea Midland Power provided the field environment and operational data needed for technical verification, while WI.Plat contributed its AI leak detection expertise and field-oriented solution development capabilities. Together, the two organizations created a practical case of public-private cooperation aimed at solving real operational challenges in industrial infrastructure.

With this selection, WI.Plat will continue to advance its AI-based smart leak management solutions and expand their application beyond water networks to power plants, plants, industrial piping systems, and public infrastructure.

WI.Plat participated in ACE26(AWWA Conference & Exhibition 2026), held from June 21 to 25 in Washington, D.C., USA.

ACE is one of the major water industry events in North America, bringing together water utilities, engineering firms, public institutions, and technology companies to share technologies, operational experience, and policy trends in the water sector. WI.Plat joined the Korean Pavilion at this year’s exhibition and introduced its AI-based intelligent leak monitoring and detection technology.

During the exhibition, WI.Plat met with water utilities, engineering and consulting firms, and other water industry stakeholders from the United States and other regions. Visitors asked about WI.Plat’s leak monitoring approach, field application cases, and potential pilot project opportunities.

In the North American market, aging water infrastructure, operational efficiency, and workforce limitations are key issues for many utilities. Against this background, WI.Plat was able to confirm practical interest in its IoT sensor and AI analytics-based leak management approach. Several utilities and water industry companies also discussed possible follow-up opportunities for field application, business expansion, and local partnerships.

Through ACE26, WI.Plat expanded its contact points with the North American water market and confirmed potential opportunities for practical collaboration with local utilities and water industry partners. WI.Plat will continue to follow up with the organizations and companies connected during the event and explore opportunities to apply smart leak management and NRW reduction solutions suitable for the North American market.

WI.Plat Participates in SIWW 2026 and Engages with Global Water Industry Stakeholders

WI.Plat participated in SIWW 2026(Singapore International Water Week 2026), held from June 16 to 18 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore.

SIWW is an international water industry event that brings together water utilities, public institutions, engineering firms, technology companies, and water management professionals from around the world. At this year’s exhibition, WI.Plat introduced its AI-based intelligent leak detection system NELOW, along with its mobile acoustic leak sensor Sonic GL and fixed-type leak monitoring sensor Sonic M2.

WI.Plat’s AI development team also joined the exhibition to provide more detailed technical explanations on how leak sound and pressure data are collected, analyzed, and used to support leak suspicion analysis through AI models. Visitors showed particular interest in how data collected from GL and M2 can be analyzed on the NELOW platform and applied to actual field operations.

During the exhibition, WI.Plat met with water utilities, water management companies, engineering firms, and system integrators from Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Australia, and other countries. A total of 51 consultations were held, covering topics such as leak detection equipment, NELOW platform integration, AI-based data analysis, smart meter linkage, and integration with existing water network management systems.

Many discussions focused on data-driven management of underground pipeline leaks, leak sound analysis under different pipe materials and field conditions, and AI/LLM-based reporting and data interpretation functions. Some visitors also requested additional materials to review the possible application of WI.Plat’s solutions in water projects, buildings, industrial facilities, and data centers.

Through SIWW 2026, WI.Plat confirmed strong market interest in AI-based smart water loss management solutions across Southeast Asia and other global regions. WI.Plat will continue follow-up discussions with the organizations and companies connected during the exhibition and seek further opportunities to provide leak management and NRW reduction solutions tailored to local conditions.

On September 26, 2024, WI.Plat participated in the 2024 Daejeon & Chungcheong Job Festival held at the Daejeon Convention Center, receiving enthusiastic responses from attendees. This event was jointly hosted by Chungcheong Today, the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Daedeok Innopolis Venture Association. WI.Plat welcomed visitors at booth B19 within the Daejeon Unicorn Zone (Area B).

Many job seekers visited the WI.Plat booth throughout the day. They engaged in various discussions about employment-related concerns and challenges, and showed great interest in WI.Plat’s business operations, recruitment fields, and specific job roles, such as software development, hardware development, and sales.

A WI.Plat representative, who was in charge of the booth, shared, “We were able to have in-depth conversations with many job seekers who visited our booth, giving them a better understanding of our company and roles. We plan to continue participating in various events to actively communicate with job seekers and discover exceptional talents for WI.Plat.”

At the K-water booth, we presented our “Intelligent Leak Management System” alongside three cutting-edge water management technologies: ▲the Digital Twin Water Management Platform (Digital Garam+),  ▲AI Water Treatment Plant, and  ▲Smart Water Network Management (SWNM). This further showcased the excellence of our technology.

WI.Plat is actively applying our innovative technologies in the “Smart Water Network Management” and “AI Water Treatment Plant” sections, both domestically and internationally.

WI.Plat Embarks on Intelligent Water Management Project in Bungkla, Thailand

 

WI.Plat Co., Ltd. (CEO Sanghoon Cha) announced its launch of a project to establish an intelligent water management system in the village of Bungkla, Bueng Kan Province, Thailand.

On Monday, July 1st, WI.Plat hosted a kickoff meeting at the project site, officially marking the start of this innovative initiative, which is expected to become a significant milestone for water management technology advancement in Southeast Asia.

This project, funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea, is part of a broader initiative led by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), and the Mekong River Commission (MRC) to support four countries along the Mekong River. WI.Plat successfully secured this project in June and will play a leading role in its execution.

Founded in 2020 as a in-house venture K-water, WI.Plat specializes in intelligent leak detection and water-energy management systems using AI and IoT technologies. Within just four years of its establishment, the company has successfully executed various leak management projects in seven countries, demonstrating its technological excellence and experience. This new project further cements WI.Plat’s po sition as a key player in the global water management sector.

The primary goal of this project is to automate the water production and supply system of Bungkla village, which sources its water from the Mekong River, through the use of advanced digital technologies. Additionally, WI.Plat aims to enhance local workforce capabilities, improve water quality, and reduce water loss. The company plans to present a standardized model for small village-level water supply systems in Thailand, applying digital technology beyond simple technology transfer to establish a sustainable development model.

CEO Sanghoon Cha stated, “By leveraging cutting-edge digital technologies such as AI and IoT, WI.Plat aims to establish a standardized success model to address water quality, leakage, and energy issues in small villages across Asian countries. This initiative will contribute to improving the quality of life for local residents while leading global innovation in water management technology.”

Once successfully completed, this project is expected to serve as a vital standard model for improving water supply systems in Thailand and neighboring Mekong River countries. Moreover, it will propose a new paradigm for solving water management issues in developing countries and showcase the technological capabilities and expertise of Korean companies on the global stage.
