WI.Plat Selected for WIN-WIN HONORS through AI-Based Leak Management Demonstration with Korea Midland Power

WI.Plat’s AI-based leak management system demonstration, carried out in cooperation with Korea Midland Power, has been selected for the 2026 WIN-WIN HONORS project by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

The project focused on addressing micro-leak issues in power plant piping systems, using the Sejong Power Division as a demonstration site. In power plants, constant operational noise and complex piping structures make it difficult to identify leak sounds through conventional methods. WI.Plat applied its AI-based leak sound analysis technology to this challenging environment, using actual field data such as piping information and operational noise data.

Through this demonstration, WI.Plat verified how AI can help distinguish leak sounds from background noise in industrial facilities. The project also showed that WI.Plat’s technology, originally developed and applied in the water distribution sector, can be expanded to power plants, industrial facilities, and other infrastructure where early leak detection is directly linked to operational efficiency and asset safety.

This collaboration also builds on the achievements recognized at the 2025 Public-Private Open Innovation Performance Sharing Event, where the AI-based leak management project received the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award. The 2026 WIN-WIN HONORS selection further highlights the project as a meaningful cooperation model between a public enterprise and a technology startup.

Korea Midland Power provided the field environment and operational data needed for technical verification, while WI.Plat contributed its AI leak detection expertise and field-oriented solution development capabilities. Together, the two organizations created a practical case of public-private cooperation aimed at solving real operational challenges in industrial infrastructure.

With this selection, WI.Plat will continue to advance its AI-based smart leak management solutions and expand their application beyond water networks to power plants, plants, industrial piping systems, and public infrastructure.

WI.Plat participated in ACE26(AWWA Conference & Exhibition 2026), held from June 21 to 25 in Washington, D.C., USA.

ACE is one of the major water industry events in North America, bringing together water utilities, engineering firms, public institutions, and technology companies to share technologies, operational experience, and policy trends in the water sector. WI.Plat joined the Korean Pavilion at this year’s exhibition and introduced its AI-based intelligent leak monitoring and detection technology.

During the exhibition, WI.Plat met with water utilities, engineering and consulting firms, and other water industry stakeholders from the United States and other regions. Visitors asked about WI.Plat’s leak monitoring approach, field application cases, and potential pilot project opportunities.

In the North American market, aging water infrastructure, operational efficiency, and workforce limitations are key issues for many utilities. Against this background, WI.Plat was able to confirm practical interest in its IoT sensor and AI analytics-based leak management approach. Several utilities and water industry companies also discussed possible follow-up opportunities for field application, business expansion, and local partnerships.

Through ACE26, WI.Plat expanded its contact points with the North American water market and confirmed potential opportunities for practical collaboration with local utilities and water industry partners. WI.Plat Participates in SIWW 2026 and Engages with Global Water Industry Stakeholders

WI.Plat participated in SIWW 2026(Singapore International Water Week 2026), held from June 16 to 18 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore.

SIWW is an international water industry event that brings together water utilities, public institutions, engineering firms, technology companies, and water management professionals from around the world. At this year’s exhibition, WI.Plat introduced its AI-based intelligent leak detection system NELOW, along with its mobile acoustic leak sensor Sonic GL and fixed-type leak monitoring sensor Sonic M2.

WI.Plat’s AI development team also joined the exhibition to provide more detailed technical explanations on how leak sound and pressure data are collected, analyzed, and used to support leak suspicion analysis through AI models. Visitors showed particular interest in how data collected from GL and M2 can be analyzed on the NELOW platform and applied to actual field operations.

During the exhibition, WI.Plat met with water utilities, water management companies, engineering firms, and system integrators from Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Australia, and other countries. A total of 51 consultations were held, covering topics such as leak detection equipment, NELOW platform integration, AI-based data analysis, smart meter linkage, and integration with existing water network management systems.

Many discussions focused on data-driven management of underground pipeline leaks, leak sound analysis under different pipe materials and field conditions, and AI/LLM-based reporting and data interpretation functions. Some visitors also requested additional materials to review the possible application of WI.Plat’s solutions in water projects, buildings, industrial facilities, and data centers.

Through SIWW 2026, WI.Plat confirmed strong market interest in AI-based smart water loss management solutions across Southeast Asia and other global regions. WI.Plat will continue follow-up discussions with the organizations and companies connected during the exhibition and seek further opportunities to provide leak management and NRW reduction solutions tailored to local conditions.

WI.Plat Showcases NELOW AI at WATER KOREA 2026

WI.Plat participated in WATER KOREA 2026, held from March 18 to 20 at BEXCO in Busan, where it showcased its AI- and IoT-based intelligent water leak management solution, NELOW AI.

During the exhibition, WI.Plat engaged with a wide range of domestic and international water authorities and industry stakeholders, presenting its technologies and real-world application cases. Through these interactions, the company was able to further validate on-site demand and highlight the practical applicability and scalability of its solutions.

WI.Plat Participates in WETEX 2025 to Expand Global Water Industry Collaboration

Dubai, UAE – October 2025 – WI.Plat Co., Ltd., a provider of AI-driven digital water management solutions, announced that it participated in WETEX & Solar Show 2025, held from September 30 to October 2 at the Dubai World Trade Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

WETEX, hosted by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), is one of the largest exhibitions in the Middle East dedicated to water, energy, environmental technologies, and sustainability. The 2025 edition brought together over 2,800 companies and more than 50,000 industry professionals from 65 countries, creating a global platform for innovation and collaboration.

WI.Plat participated as part of the Korean Pavilion organized by the Korea Water Partnership (KWP) and showcased its AI-powered digital water management and leak detection solutions designed to support utilities in reducing non-revenue water and improving water distribution efficiency.

From Pilot to Community: P-LINK Thailand Smart Water Management Project Transitions to Local Ownership

 

The P-LINK Thai Pilot Facility Handover Ceremony, held on September 11, 2025, in Bung Khla, Bueng Kan Province, marked the official transition of a successful water management project to local Thai stakeholders. This event serves as a tangible example of effective South-South and triangular cooperation. 

The pilot project, titled “Increasing the Efficiency of Tap Water System in Moo 1, 2, and 3, Bung Khla Sub-district,” aims to improve local water access for 943 households (2,365 people) in a rural community along the Mekong River. 

Since its launch in July 2024, the project has significantly enhanced water service reliability and quality through the deployment of smart technologies from the Korean provider, WI.Plat. These include an AI-powered leak detection system, digital billing, and cloud-based monitoring. A new water quality monitoring room was also established at the Bung Khla Subdistrict Administrative Office. 

The handover ceremony brought together a diverse group of key stakeholders, including representatives from the Thai National Mekong Committee (TNMCS), United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), the Mekong River Commission Secretariat (MRCS), the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), Mekong Institute (MI), and WI.Plat. 

As a key partner, MI led the capacity-building efforts, ensuring that the community and local authorities were fully equipped to operate and maintain the new system. This approach is crucial for long-term sustainability and local ownership. 

Ms. Jian Wang, Program Manager at MI, highlighted the capacity-building approach as a key component of the pilot. “We conducted in-depth discussions with the community to understand their specific context. This included not only the difficulties they were facing with conventional methods but also their hesitations about adopting new technology. By addressing these concerns directly, we provided training that truly empowered them. We believe this community-driven approach can be a replicable model for other communities in the Lower Mekong region,” Ms. Wang shared during a panel discussion with fellow experts on scaling up smart water management solutions. 

The project has already shown impressive results. Each detected leak reduces water loss by approximately 24 cubic meters per day, while the mobile billing application has streamlined operations. 

The handover ceremony also commemorated the UN Day for South-South Cooperation 2025. It showcased how innovative, community-based solutions developed through regional collaboration can accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals in the Mekong region. The Thai pilot is now positioned as a replicable model for smart water management, with plans to share its lessons with other communities.

As Part of KOICA’s Inclusive Business Solution (IBS) Program

On July 22, 2025, WI.Plat Co., Ltd. signed a performance-based non-revenue water (NRW) reduction agreement with Perumda Tirta Musi (PDAM Palembang) in Indonesia, as part of the Inclusive Business Solution (IBS) program supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The three-year project will cover approximately 32,000 households in the Rambutan district of Palembang. The primary objective is to significantly reduce NRW through the deployment of WI.Plat’s AI-powered smart water management system.

What makes this project unique is its performance-based structure: revenue generated from reduced water losses will be shared between PDAM Palembang and the WI.Plat Consortium, which consists of WI.Plat and its local partner, Supra Internasional. This arrangement enables both parties to benefit from the project’s success and supports the implementation of a sustainable water management model.

Mr. Andi Wijaya Adani, President Director of PDAM Palembang, shared his thoughts on the agreement:
“It is a great honor to partner with the WI.Plat Consortium on Indonesia’s first performance-based project using an intelligent NRW management system. We hope to gain valuable knowledge on innovative water loss reduction strategies through this collaboration.”

“While this project is made possible with the support of KOICA, it is especially meaningful to WI.Plat as our first official partnership with a regional water utility in Indonesia since entering the market four years ago. WI.Plat is also planning various initiatives to support the Indonesian water sector. In particular, the company will collaborate with PERPAMSI (the Indonesian Water Supply Association) to establish an NRW Training Center, aimed at enhancing the technical capabilities of local water utilities.

Furthermore, WI.Plat intends to expand the application of its smart water management system beyond Palembang to other regions, creating sustainable water management models and delivering real, measurable improvements to local communities.

Through this agreement, WI.Plat aims to further expand its smart water management initiatives in Indonesia, enhance water service efficiency in the Palembang region, and deliver improved water services to local residents — in close collaboration with KOICA.

At the exhibition, WI.Plat introduced its NELOW(Intelligent Water Leak Management System), which utilizes artificial intelligence(AI) and Internet of Things(IoT) technologies for real-time leak detection.
