WI.Plat Leads Smart Water Revolution in Kyrgyzstan

WI.Plat is proud to announce the launch of its flagship international initiative in Central Asia—the Establishment of a Smart Water Management System Roadmap for the Kyrgyz Republic. As the lead implementing agency under the 2024/25 KSP-EBRD Joint Consulting Program, WI.Plat is bringing its award-winning AI-powered technologies and global expertise to the capital city of Bishkek. The project kicked off with a high-level meeting at Bishkekvodocanal, where our CEO, Mr. Sanghoon Cha, introduced Korea’s smart water innovations to key stakeholders including KEXIM, EBRD, and Kyrgyz national agencies. This milestone reaffirms WI.Plat’s position as a global pioneer in intelligent water loss management and climate-resilient urban infrastructure.

On the Ground: WI.Plat’s Technology-Driven Survey for Future Planning

During the February 2025 field survey, WI.Plat’s expert team conducted on-site inspections of Bishkek’s water treatment plants, pipeline facilities, and metering systems. Our in-depth analysis revealed critical gaps in automation, data availability, and water resource monitoring. Leveraging our experience from successful projects across Asia, WI.Plat identified high-impact opportunities for implementing smart metering, AI-based leak detection, and real-time pressure monitoring. These efforts will directly inform the creation of a locally customized Smart Water Management Roadmap—designed to optimize operations, reduce non-revenue water (NRW), and improve groundwater sustainability.

What’s Next: WI.Plat’s Roadmap to Sustainable Water Innovation

WI.Plat is now steering the next phases of the project, including detailed system analysis, policy-maker training programs in Korea, and the development of implementation-ready project models. A second field mission is planned for May 2025 to expand site diagnostics and engage local stakeholders further. As we work closely with partners like the EBRD and KOICA, WI.Plat continues to lead the way in delivering innovative, scalable, and sustainable solutions to the most pressing water challenges worldwide. Our mission is clear: empower cities like Bishkek with the tools and knowledge to build resilient, data-driven water systems for generations to come.

WI.Plat Successfully Completes Smart Water Pilot in Malaysia—Paving the Way for Expansion with Sarawak Government

WI.Plat Co., Ltd. has proudly completed the Intelligent Water Loss Management System Project in Samariang, Kuching, Malaysia, with outstanding success. This pilot, funded by GGGI-BKCF and supported by K-water, showcased WI.Plat’s advanced AI-powered leak detection and pressure monitoring technologies. Through the deployment of 30 IoT devices and our NELOW smart water platform, the project achieved an estimated annual water savings of over 87,000 tons. By training local engineers, conducting thorough system assessments, and executing real-time leak detection and repair, WI.Plat demonstrated the transformative impact of smart water technologies in Southeast Asia.

Smart Technologies Meet Real-World Impact in Sarawak

WI.Plat’s innovative approach—combining AI, IoT, and cloud-based water management—proved highly effective in reducing Non-Revenue Water (NRW) and strengthening operational efficiency. The project in Samariang not only validated the technological feasibility but also enhanced the capabilities of local utility staff through targeted capacity building. These results have garnered strong interest from the Sarawak government, which now plans to scale this success into a broader, performance-based NRW reduction program in collaboration with WI.Plat.

Next Phase: Performance-Based NRW Reduction Project Across Sarawak

Building on the pilot’s success, WI.Plat is preparing to launch a large-scale NRW reduction initiative covering up to 50,000 households in Sarawak. This upcoming three-year project will follow a performance-based model, linking project compensation directly to measurable reductions in water loss. With proven experience, cutting-edge solutions, and trusted partnerships in place, WI.Plat is poised to lead Sarawak into a new era of intelligent water management—delivering sustainable, measurable outcomes that benefit both people and the environment.

WI.Plat Showcases NELOW system at 4th Procurement Day: Strengthening Presence in the Public Procurement Market

Event Name: 4th Procurement Day
Date:  September 26 ~  27, 2024 (Thursday ~ Friday)
Venue: Daejeon Convention Center, Exhibition Hall 2

WI.Plat participated in the ‘4th Procurement Day’ exhibition held at the aT Center (Yangjae, Seoul) from September 26 (Thu) to 27 (Fri).

Procurement Day is a legal anniversary designated in 2020 under the ‘Procurement Business Act’ to increase public awareness and interest in the importance of public procurement and to promote its development.

This year, the 4th Procurement Day event was held under the theme of “A Friend to Businesses, a Light of Innovation, a Star of the Future.”

At this exhibition, in particular, we had the opportunity to introduce our “Intelligent Leak Management System” at the government collaboration pavilion, recommended by KOICA.

WI.Plat’s NELOW system is designated as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service and is currently being purchased by the K-water and various municipalities within South Korea. Through this event, we seized the chance to increase awareness and interest in the public procurement market.

We will continue to strive for constant growth in the domestic leak management market.
