As part of the program, WI.Plat successfully took part in the Expand North Star 2024 exhibition under the AGCC Pavilion, conducting productive business meetings and market research.

Expand North Star is the largest event in the Middle East for connecting startups and investors. Held from October 13 to 16, 2024, at Dubai Harbour, this event serves as a global platform where startups from all over the world showcase their innovative technologies and network with investors and industry experts. The exhibition particularly focused on advanced technologies such as AI, blockchain, and sustainable energy.

AGCC (Arab Gulf Cooperation Council) is a local institution that supports innovative startups and promotes global market entry. At this event, the DMCC x AGCC Global AI Challenge was held to uncover AI-driven innovations and foster sustainable growth. DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) is a subsidiary of the Dubai Department of Economy, recognized as the world’s top free trade zone for nine consecutive years. Managing over 24,000 global companies, DMCC attracts promising tech companies from around the world to Dubai.

WI.Plat successfully participated in the WETEX 2024 exhibition in Dubai, presenting our advanced water leakage management technologies. The event attracted numerous representatives from private companies and local water authorities across the Middle East, with particular interest in integrating effective leakage solutions within the region.

WETEX is the largest sustainability and clean energy exhibition in the region. The event provided an excellent platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies and discussing trends in water, energy, and environmental sustainability.

Water leakage is a significant challenge in the Middle East, affecting not only water distribution networks but also transmission pipelines, irrigation systems, and building infrastructures. Visitors to the WI.Plat booth recognized the urgent need for efficient solutions and praised the capabilities of our NELOW system. Attendees were especially impressed by our correlation method, which accurately pinpoints leak locations by comparing sound data.

WI.Plat’s solutions stood out for their convenience and lightweight design, with our data visualization features receiving positive feedback for their user-friendly interface. WI.Plat Showcases NELOW system at 4th Procurement Day: Strengthening Presence in the Public Procurement Market

WI.Plat participated in the ‘4th Procurement Day’ exhibition held at the aT Center (Yangjae, Seoul) from September 26 (Thu) to 27 (Fri).

Procurement Day is a legal anniversary designated in 2020 under the ‘Procurement Business Act’ to increase public awareness and interest in the importance of public procurement and to promote its development.

This year, the 4th Procurement Day event was held under the theme of “A Friend to Businesses, a Light of Innovation, a Star of the Future.”

At this exhibition, in particular, we had the opportunity to introduce our “Intelligent Leak Management System” at the government collaboration pavilion, recommended by KOICA.

WI.Plat’s NELOW system is designated as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service and is currently being purchased by the K-water and various municipalities within South Korea. Through this event, we seized the chance to increase awareness and interest in the public procurement market.

On September 26, 2024, WI.Plat participated in the 2024 Daejeon & Chungcheong Job Festival held at the Daejeon Convention Center, receiving enthusiastic responses from attendees. This event was jointly hosted by Chungcheong Today, the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Daedeok Innopolis Venture Association. WI.Plat welcomed visitors at booth B19 within the Daejeon Unicorn Zone (Area B).

Many job seekers visited the WI.Plat booth throughout the day. They engaged in various discussions about employment-related concerns and challenges, and showed great interest in WI.Plat’s business operations, recruitment fields, and specific job roles, such as software development, hardware development, and sales.

A WI.Plat representative, who was in charge of the booth, shared, “We were able to have in-depth conversations with many job seekers who visited our booth, giving them a better understanding of our company and roles. We plan to continue participating in various events to actively communicate with job seekers and discover exceptional talents for WI.Plat.”

At the K-water booth, we presented our “Intelligent Leak Management System” alongside three cutting-edge water management technologies: ▲the Digital Twin Water Management Platform (Digital Garam+),  ▲AI Water Treatment Plant, and  ▲Smart Water Network Management (SWNM). This further showcased the excellence of our technology.

WI.Plat is actively applying our innovative technologies in the “Smart Water Network Management” and “AI Water Treatment Plant” sections, both domestically and internationally.

WI.Plat Embarks on Intelligent Water Management Project in Bungkla, Thailand

 

WI.Plat Co., Ltd. (CEO Sanghoon Cha) announced its launch of a project to establish an intelligent water management system in the village of Bungkla, Bueng Kan Province, Thailand.

On Monday, July 1st, WI.Plat hosted a kickoff meeting at the project site, officially marking the start of this innovative initiative, which is expected to become a significant milestone for water management technology advancement in Southeast Asia.

This project, funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea, is part of a broader initiative led by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), and the Mekong River Commission (MRC) to support four countries along the Mekong River. WI.Plat successfully secured this project in June and will play a leading role in its execution.

Founded in 2020 as a in-house venture K-water, WI.Plat specializes in intelligent leak detection and water-energy management systems using AI and IoT technologies. Within just four years of its establishment, the company has successfully executed various leak management projects in seven countries, demonstrating its technological excellence and experience. This new project further cements WI.Plat’s po sition as a key player in the global water management sector.

The primary goal of this project is to automate the water production and supply system of Bungkla village, which sources its water from the Mekong River, through the use of advanced digital technologies. Additionally, WI.Plat aims to enhance local workforce capabilities, improve water quality, and reduce water loss. The company plans to present a standardized model for small village-level water supply systems in Thailand, applying digital technology beyond simple technology transfer to establish a sustainable development model.

CEO Sanghoon Cha stated, “By leveraging cutting-edge digital technologies such as AI and IoT, WI.Plat aims to establish a standardized success model to address water quality, leakage, and energy issues in small villages across Asian countries. This initiative will contribute to improving the quality of life for local residents while leading global innovation in water management technology.”

Once successfully completed, this project is expected to serve as a vital standard model for improving water supply systems in Thailand and neighboring Mekong River countries. Moreover, it will propose a new paradigm for solving water management issues in developing countries and showcase the technological capabilities and expertise of Korean companies on the global stage.

From May 20 to 25, 2024, WI.Plat made significant strides in advancing global water management solutions by signing four landmark Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with major Indonesian water utility agencies at the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia. This pivotal event saw WI.Plat entering into strategic partnerships with PDAM Tirta Handayani (Gundung Kidul region), Perumda Tirta Kepri (Riau Islands), Perumda Tirta Kencana (Samarinda, East Kalimantan), and Perumda Tirta Musi (Palembang, South Sumatra). These MOUs are focused on deploying WI.Plat’s state-of-the-art Intelligent Water Leak Management System (NELOW) to combat Non-Revenue Water (NRW) issues and promote sustainable water management across these regions.

World Water Forum 2024: A Global Convergence

The World Water Forum is the preeminent global conference on water issues, convened every three years by the World Water Council to foster dialogue and raise awareness about critical water challenges. The 10th iteration of the forum in Bali featured an array of sessions and exhibitions that drew a massive turnout of approximately 13,448 participants from 148 countries.
